Dr. Francis was born in Jennings, Louisiana. He received his B.A. in biology from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA, and a Masters Degree in biology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. He attended the Medical College of Virginia and completed both his residency and fellowship in cardiology at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Francis is board certified in cardiovascular disease.
Appointments: Dr. Francis is a member of the medical staffs at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, Inova Alexandria Hospital, Inova Heart and Vascular Institute, and Potomac Hospital.
Professional Organizations: Dr. Francis is a member of the American Heart Association, ) where he also served as a member of the Board of Directors), the American Medical Association, Virginia Medical Society and the Alexandria Medical Society.
Comments: Dr. Francis is actively involved in the community. He has been an inspirational speaker at numerous elementary and high schools, participates in Inova Mount Vernon Hospital's annual Lights of Love ceremony, and lectures in the community on cardiac care.
Dr. Francis also is a nationally renowned professional entertainer and a former artist of Capitol Records Nashville. He has performed all over the United States, Canada, England, and Scotland as a singer and songwriter. He has four CD's and five music videos on Capitol Records; his music has been featured on numerous national television programs and in several national magazines and newspapers. He is an active member of the Country Music Association and still performs locally when time permits.
